The Respiratory Therapist Position Overview
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for respiratory equipment care and services, making home visits to evaluate the use and maintenance of respiratory equipment, to educate clients and family members, and maintain proper documentation of visits and contacts. The Respiratory Therapist reports to the RT Supervisor and Chief Operating Officer.
Minimum Requirements:
1.Must have current license (or be board-eligible) as Respiratory Care Practitioner;
2.Must have at least 6 months’ experience in acute care settings as RCP or equivalent;
3. Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license.
Physical Demands:
1.Sitting, standing, and walking in the office and throughout the facility, and in and out of patients’ homes;
2.The ability to drive and operate a motor vehicle;
3. Operation of office machinery and HME equipment;
4.Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds;
5. Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision.
